Memphis joining Big East?
There has been a lot of discussion about the Big Ten adding a Big East school (e.g. Rutgers or Pitt), so they can hold a conference championship.
As a result, the Big East apparently is strongly considering asking Memphis to join, and possibly getting rid of a couple of other teams (namely DePaul and St. John's) that aren't performing at the level of the rest of the conference.
It's also likely that the Big East football and basketball only schools will eventually split. If the Big East football schools (without the basketball only schools), wanted Memphis to join, so that they would have a 9 members all sports league, that would play double round robin in basketball and play every school in football.
The 9 members would be :
Memphis
Louisville
Cinncinati
USF
Uconn
Syracuse
Pittsburg
WVU
Rutgers
Adding Memphis is a no-brainer. This would be a killer basketball league playing every team home and away and a BCS football conference.
