Is Singapore a good place to settle down?
Dear All,
I and my wife are software engineers ( from India) and we have got job offers in Singapore. I would like to know about the quality of life in Singapore in terms of following:
1) Education standard in schools and colleges.
2) Medical facilities
3) Sports faclities ( easy accessibility of parks, swimming pools, other sports like tennis, badminton etc)
4) Entertainment options and Excursion options for example on weekends.
5) Traffic Congestion and general congestion in malls, roads etc.
6) General security against theft or otherwise.

Hello there 
1) Education standard in schools are good. The Singapore government insists on a compulsory 10years education for all young citizens now. After which, they may go on to college before entering university, or polytechnics or institute of technical education. You can say that your child will definitely get basic education here. Education standards are one of the best in Asia. Universities such as NUS and NTU are top universities in the region too.
2) There are clinics at almost every corner of Singapore. Medical science is very advance too with many patients coming to here to seek medical help. However, they come at large costs.
3) Community Centers located in all neighbourhoods to ensure well-being living in the same community. These centers provide classes ranging from art to cooking to yoga and also provide sports facilities for badminton and basketball etc. Swimming complexes can be found easily too.
4) At almost every MRT stops in Singapore, there is at least a mall around. So there is no lack of entertainment options such as movies, eating out etc. Singapore is a hot tourist spot thus many places are available for excursions such as the Mandai Zoo and Jurong Bird Park.
5) Traffic is not very congested after the implementation of the ERP system which taxes you if you were to use certain roads/expressways. Thus it is more advisable to take public transport instead.
6) Singapore is one of the safest and peaceful country in the world. Really low crime rates.
