The Nike Padded Compression Shorts provide a lot more padded protection than Adidas. The material that Nike uses is better to keep cool and in general feels better than Adidas. Sometimes the Nike pads stick out a little to much and get in the way and/or feel uncomfortable while running.

The Adidas Padded Compression Shorts have a sleeker design and feel to them. The pads are little less bulgy, but attain less protection. They are a little bit too long, but not too bad. The comforatibility is a little less worthy than Nike and they do not acquire the "keep cool" technology system.
For basketball, I prefer wearing the Nike Padded Compression Shorts because of many reasons. They offer a little bit more protection than Adidas and feel a lot more comfortable. Also, they fit perfect to basically every body style, unlike Adidas. Finally, Nike has more options to make the compression shorts unique because you can pick pretty normal color combinations like black and white, blue and black, white and gray, etc. and you can order your own team colors online with customization. The only bad thing about the Nike Padded Compression Shorts is that they are pretty pricey at $75.
