Who moves my power wire to my house. The power company or the electrician?
The problem is, the connection outside has not been changed. The power line still runs to the overhang of my house not to the new pipe that holds the upgraded wires. The connections are also only wrapped in electrical tape. I have been fighting with the power company about getting the new wire ran, but they tell me it is the electricians job to do. Question: Who is to change the main wire to my house and make the new connections as well as moving the support cable off my house and onto the pipe? Second: What do I need to tell them in order to get this done?
I am assuming you have a rigid mast penetrating the roof. It is the only pipe that would hold up the service drop to house. Power company should have connected to pipe when they reconnected service. Clearances to service drop was raised during last code revision. You could call building inspector and see if wire has proper clearance. If it was too low, he could make power company raise wire. The electricians responsibility ends with wires at power company connection. I had this same problem on a job. Peco didn't change your service did they?
