What is the difference between low-rise briefs and bikinis(male)?
Today at Target I bought some Merona Underwear and it says"low-rise briefs" but it looks like a bikini. Any reasons as to why it is defined this way? Also is Merona a good brand although it;s a Target brand? Does it compare with Jockey(higher or lower quality)?
Thanks
The "rise" of trousers or briefs is the distance from the waist to the bottom of the crotch. Everyone has a different rise, but clothing manufacturers want to keep things manageable, so they offer different "rises" in pants and underwear. Bikinis are going to have the lowest rise; low rise briefs should have a bit more. Boxers are "high rise" by that standard, since there's maximum space from waist to crotch.
Not familiar with the "Merona" brand; sounds like a Target house brand. Most underwear seem to be made in huge factories in Bangladesh, El Salvador, India, or China, so quality tends to be OK, but uneven.
