Does anyone make a non-bulky belt to hold my jeans up but not show under close fitting tops?
The jeans with a bit of lycra are nice, but they are continually falling down on me even though I buy the right size. That "coin slot" look just doesn't get it, but I don't want to wear a bulky belt under the new, longer, form fitting tops, and wearing it over the top doesn't work, either.
I don't make these but anyone you know that sews just a little can make this. Whatever grosgrain ribbon you need to fit the belt loops, color you like etc. Buy enough to go around your waist plus about 4". Hem both ends and stitch on Velcro where buckle would be. If you use about a 3" piece, the belt is then adjustable. Then decorate the belt with sequins that are already stitched together as a trim and can be found in the ribbon and trim section of your fabric store. The one I saw, the sequin trim was stitched on in a zig zag pattern but you could come up with your own design. Or use two different colors of sequins and stitch side by side in your design. You can use many different things to decorate the belt. It would only take about 1/2 hour to make this belt and it is really cute. Endless color combinations too. Hope this helps.
