Does anyone know where the French Canadian name "LeMieux" comes from?
I'm not only wondering about the hockey player Mario LeMieux, here. It was also my mother's maiden name. From what I understand, it's a pretty common name in Quebec. Is this true? And does anyone know how far back it goes and if there's one common ancestor?
LeMieux was an explorer and a member of King Louis XIII's court in France.
