How to De-mold the bonding agent that's used in Scarecrow custom fit fangs?
i have a pair of scarecrow small subtle fangs that i used the mold to fit to my Cuspids(canines), and now i would rather them be on my lateral incisors..
How do i de-mold the fangs so that i can redo them after they've already hardened?
(i couldnt find the ingredients of the bonding agent used, but it's a powder that you add water to to become a paste that hardens within the span of about 5 mins.)
You may want to post your question in either the medical section, or the chemistry section. Soemone there may have specific experience with this.
I really don't think you will be able to 'un-do' the mold that you have and reshape it. I think the chemistry works in one direction only. Bonds of particular molecules interact and lock, making it (usually) impossible to reverse.
This stems from processes in thermodynamics referred to as reversibility and entropy, which means, essentially, if you enact a force to push a glass off a table and it falls and breaks, you can't then take a force and put the glass together and bring it back up to the table again ---- non-reversible process.
The powder probably contains two or more different compounds which are inert if they are kept dry, but if you add water, or some other solution it allows the compounds to interact and bond together.
Anyway.....I think you can buy this kind of material at a pharmacy.....I think I have seen it there. It wouldn't hurt to call a pharmacist, or go down and talk to one and see what they say.
