How should I get back into tennis?
I haven't played tennis in almost two years and want to get back into it again. I have played in the World Team Tennis leagues and before that played USTA 3.5. I have kept up well in running miles 3-4 times a week and have done upper and lower body weights. I'm in my late 20's (athletic/stalky build). What are some good drills or ways to ease back into the swing of things again?
one of the best drills is just to get a basket of balls and have someone lob you tennis balls. Its excellent practice for improving your forehand-backhand-slice shots-volleys-overheads. This is one of the most helpful drills out there even though it seems simple. Another really helpful thing is to play with a tennis player who is better than you. Your shots will begin mirroring your opponent and it'll help you improve because your going to try to keep up with him. The final thing is just play lots of games to improve yourself!
